The Final and Award Ceremony of Suzhou Division for the First Nanjing University “Lixing Cup” Global Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was successfully held in Suzhou New District from October 10 to 11, 2020. The Competition of Suzhou Division was hosted by Nanjing University, supported by Suzhou New District Management Committee and co-organized by Nanjing University Suzhou Alumni Association and China Suzhou Innovation Park. Yanqing Lu, Vice President of Nanjing University; Mao Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and District Mayor of Suzhou New District; Guanhong Tao, Deputy Director of the Management Committee; Xinfang Gao, Director of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Achievement Transformation Office of Nanjing University; Gongliang Gu, the Deputy Director of the above office and representatives from relevant departments of Suzhou New District participated the event.
Yanqing Lu, the Vice President of Nanjing University delivered a speech on the Award Ceremony. In the speech, he mentioned that Nanjing University sees Suzhou campus as the new starting point in history, hoping to work more closely with Suzhou New District as one “family”. Both parties promotes strategic cooperation in “alumni economic” together, takes further alumni’s comprehensive advantage in knowledge, technology, management and funds, etc.; gathers innovative and entrepreneurial talents, attracts science and technology enterprises, promotes innovation and entrepreneurship, to continuously make new and greater contributions to the high-quality development of social economic!
Mao Wei, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and District Mayor of Suzhou New District said that Suzhou New District has a profound relationship with Nanjing University. Suzhou campus of Nanjing University was constructed from September. A new campus with same level but complementary developments surely will be the strong support for the connotative development of Nanjing University and high-quality development of Suzhou New District. This competition has become another important link between Suzhou New District and Nanjing University, which allows more project achievements to take roots in Suzhou.
The aims of this competition are to provide a platform for alumni from Nanjing University to exchange ideas, communicate and channel funds; to optimize the efficiency of “alumni economic”; to offer entrepreneurs with dream the industrial resources and in-depth guidance; to support entrepreneurial alumni program better. The competition was officially launched in June, with Nanjing, Suzhou, Shanghai, Northern China, Fujian, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, international competition divisions. Suzhou Division, as the first stop of the Global Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition of Nanjing University, attracted a vast number of enthusiastic alumni from Nanjing University and other universities. More than 80 entrepreneurial projects from alumni and by recommendation from Nanjing University were received, which covered areas such as information technology, biomedicine, energy and environmental protection, new materials, etc. The projects were highly innovative and fully demonstrated entrepreneurs’ style. During the competition, the arrangement of tutorials and project matching built a resource platform, promoted the communication between entrepreneurs and industry experts, achieved the gathering effects of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Through the preliminary online evaluation, the top 30 finalists were selected to attend the semi-final and final on the afternoon of 10 October. 2 first prizes, 3 second prize and 5 third prizes were awarded in Suzhou Division finally. Among those, The application of Peptide Receptor, Nano Antibody Radionuclide Imaging and Radiotherapy Technology in Tumor DiagnosisandTreatment and Visualized degradation of formaldehyde at ambient temperature and pressure and VOCs functional nanomaterials were awarded the first prizes. VSR Social Science Big Data Platform--Block Chain Accurate Management and Control System Based on Multi-Source Big Data Mining, Research and Development of Platinum Drug Targeted Agents and Junjun Technology -- High-level Skin Care Medicine and Consumer Goods Whole Industry Chain Ecosystem were awarded second prizes. Research, Development and Industrialization on TheImprovement Technology of Soil Remediation and based on Graphene-modified Biochar and Composite Microbial Community; Low power Bluetooth (BLE) communication; Homing with the Brain-like IOT Chip Project; Research and Development of Targeted Anti-tumor Drugs; Research, Development and Industrialization of Remanufacturing of Automotive Components based on New Nanomaterials and Plasma Nanomaterials Coating; Development and Industrialization of Inorganic Antibacterial Agent and Functional Membrane Materials based on PMS-MSN were awarded third prizes. The awarded projects have been strongly supported by Suzhou New District with attractive projects-landing policies. The first prized projects that settled in the New District, and met the requirements can be qualified for the Leading Talent project of Suzhou New District. The Leading Talent project offers funding of RMB one million, three-year‘s rental subsidy for certain office space and corresponding resettlement subsidy policy support.
The Suzhou Division was the opening competition of the First Nanjing University Global Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the success contributed to the deep relation between Nanjing University and Suzhou, which deepened the local cooperation with university, inspired the spirit of Nanjing University.
