Announcement of Selection to the 2018 University Students Research Training Campus on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Singapore

To encourage and support the innovation and entrepreneurship capacities of university students, to improve their actual practical skills and levels of entrepreneurship, and to help them experience the essence of the campus life and entrepreneurship curriculums at world-renowned universities, the Nanjing Overseas Chinese Affairs Office partners with Nanyang Technological University in Singapore to adopt the latest international teaching ideas, with a view to carrying out the program of the University Students Research Training Campus on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Singapore for the excellent university students in Nanjing. Our school will organize the participation in the training camp to improve the students' global outlook of innovation and entrepreneurship and further deepen the education reform regarding innovation and entrepreneurship in our school. It is now open to all full-time students in the school.
Ⅰ. Basic Information
Exchange Period : From August 10th to 21st, 2018 (12 days in total)
Venue : Nanyang Technological University in Singapore
Places : 20 places for undergraduate and postgraduate students
Language of Instruction : English
Program Fees :
The total fees for training camp are around RMB 14,000 per person, including the accommodation of 12 days and 11 nights (about RMB 2,240), meals (about RMB 600), round-trip airfares (about RMB 3,500), course fees for entrepreneurship training camp (about RMB 7,000). Nanyang Technological University will make overall arrangements for the students' board and lodging during the camp.
The course fees will be jointly borne by the Nanjing Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Achievement Transformation (hereinafter called the “I & E Office”). The Nanjing Overseas Chinese Affairs Office will bear the costs of RMB 4000, and The I&E Office will pay the remaining course fees and the round-trip air tickets.
Students have to pay for the meals, accommodation, personal insurance, visa processing, tuitions and other expenses.
Ⅱ. Requirements for the Selection of the Capable Candidates
1. The recruit is open to the full-time undergraduates and postgraduates of all departments.
2.The students are required to have excellent academic performance and outstanding ability in English listening and speaking, with the scores of CET-4 or CET-6 exceeding 500 points;
3. Students who have participated in entrepreneurial training programs or competitions, or those having experience in entrepreneurial practice are preferred;
4. Students who have strong sense of responsibility, organizational discipline and teamwork capabilities;
5. Students who are engaged in campus and social welfare activities.
6. Students who love the motherland, abide by laws, have good manners and behave politely.
7. During the exchange period, the personal files and student status documents of students shall be kept in school.
Ⅲ. Contents of Curriculum
The curriculum is taught in English. From the perspective of cultivating innovation and entrepreneurship abilities, it facilitates students understanding the entire process from business ideas to the establishment of companies. Additionally, it instructs students the ways of developing products and cultivating innovative thinking from the perspective of the market and people.
Contents: creativity, innovation and the recognition of business opportunities, user experience and product designs of start-ups, start-up business accounting, financing overview of start-ups, design ideas and innovation, entrepreneurial management and business plan writing for start-ups, financial forecasts for start-ups, etc. Apart from the academic study, it arranges island outdoor training, visits to institutes, mini-business plan competitions and course tutoring. During the course study, students will form multiple teams to complete the business plans under the guidance of tutors and make the presentations at the end of the study.
Ⅳ. The Requirements for Program Participation
1. Applicants must obtain the consent of their parents and departments.
2. All the arrangements of the program are the team activities. Each program member shall register at the stipulated time, participate in all events on time, and shall not postpone or be absent from the activities. Otherwise, his/her qualification of participation in the program will be cancelled.

Ⅵ. Application Process
Undergraduates and graduates who are interest in applying for this program shall complete the application form (see attachment) and send the email to qinmian@nju.edu.cn before June 3, 17:00. The title of the email shall be as follows: Name + Department + Grade + Singapore I & E Training Camp registration.
Notes:
Students enrolled in the camp shall conform to the processes and results of selecting candidates for the camp. The elected students are required to sign the Liability Statement for the Intercollegiate Student International Exchange Program of Nanjing University, which can be downloaded from the Download Center of the Student Exchange Section website: http://stuex.nju.edu.cn/a/xzzx/2015/0727/165.html; The Guardian column of the statement shall be autographed by a parent or legal guardian, and other persons are not permitted to sign it. Please pay attention to email notification for the specific delivery time.

After the exchange students back to school, they shall, through the email, submit the Summary of Exchange (in Chinese) to the I&E Office and the Section of Student Exchange Programmes Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges within one month. The life during exchange should be reviewed and the learning, living and management of exchange schools should be described in detail. Requirements: More than 2000 words, Song Std Font 12 pound, single line spacing
with at least two color photos. Photo format: JPG, the minimum resolution: 450dpi, photo size: landscape orientation preferred. The exchange transcript and other proof materials will be obtained only after submitting the report.
