On 26 November 2022, the final of the 2nd Nanjing University “Lixing Cup” Global Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was successfully held at the Gulou Campus of Nanjing University. Lu Yanqing, vice president of Nanjing University, Gao Xinfang, director of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Achievement Transformation Office, Liu Liyang, executive dean of the Industrial Technology Research Institute, Ji Qing, president of Nanjing University High-tech Zone Development Co., Ltd., Zhang Li, director general of Gulou District Science and Technology Bureau in Nanjing and deputy director Xiong Ye attended the competition. The heads of relevant departments of Nanjing University and the People's Government of Gulou District, Nanjing, directors of well-known venture capital institutions and representatives of competitors participated in the competition through online and offline mode.
On behalf of Nanjing University, Lu Yanqing first expressed his sincere appreciation and respect to the support unit of the competition, the People's Government of Gulou District, Nanjing, and to all the judges, experts, competitors and organizers who participated in the competition. He noted that Nanjing University will adhere to the style of study and school motto of Sincerity withAspiration, Perseverance with Integrity, build brand ofNanjing University “Lixing Cup” Global Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, so as to produce more achievements on innovation and entrepreneurship. He congratulated all the candidates in the finals, expecting them to demonstrate achievements and to turn technology into future products with stronger technical competitiveness for social development.
Xiong Ye introduced the innovation and entrepreneurship environment in Gulou District and several policies and measures for the construction of the Pilot Zone newly issued by Gulou District.
Gao Xinfang made a concluding statementfor the competition. “In recent years, Nanjing University has made outstanding achievements in the transformation, laying a firm foundation for holding the Nanjing University Global Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition”, she said.She expected more alumni projects to be shown in the competition, more judges and experts to pay attention to the alumni projects of NJU, and more alumni projects to be implemented in Nanjing and Gulou District, in order to realize I am proud of NJU today, and NTUwill be proud of me in the future through close association and cooperation of NJU alumni.
There are 10 first-prize projects, 20 second-prize projectsand 39 third-prize projects were selected in the finals. Among them, Eye of the Machine: High-resolution All-Solid-State Lidar Sensor Chip won the championship, Green High-performance Lithium-ion Battery Binder won the runner-up, and REMD Biotherapeutics—Based on the Global New Antibody Drug Development in Multiple R&D Platforms won the third place.

The final of the 2nd Nanjing University“Lixing Cup”Global Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was hosted by Nanjing University and supported by the People's Government of Gulou District, Nanjing. There are 448 excellentalumni entrepreneurial projects at home and abroad in the competition. The cumulative valuation of the projects reached RMB27.565 billion in the finals, receiving more than RMB1.194 billion of the investment and financing amount this year and promoting employment more than11,300 people.
