From August 18 to 20, 2022, the 2022 annual conference of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Branch of the China Higher Education Association (Hereinafter as “Branch”) and the Science and Innovation Integration Summit were held in Nanjing. The conference is co-hosted by the Branch and Nanjing University, and undertaken by Nanjing University. The conference is held in a combination of online and offline, and more than 500 leaders, experts and scholars from 475 colleges and universities all over the country participated in the conference, and more than 60,000 people participated in the conference online.
Li Jiajun, vice president of China Higher Education Association and former secretary of the party committee of Tianjin University, Hong Yinxing, former secretary of the party committee of Nanjing University, Yang Shubing, deputy director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, Yang Zhong, executive deputy secretary of the party committee of Nanjing University, Chen Xiaohong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and secretary of the party committee of Hunan University of Technology and Business, Zhu Shining, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Nanjing University, and Liu Qing, director of the National Innovation Center par Excellence attended the summit. Hao Qingjie, deputy secretary-general of the China Higher Education Association, Shao Jin, director of the Higher Education Office of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, Xu Fei, chairman of the Branch and executive vice president of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Li Dong, Yang Aihua, Zhang Zhuyun, Liu Zhu, Zhang Jianjun, Yang Fang, Zhang Yuli, Huang Guizhou, vice-chairmen of the Branch, Li Kaiyi and Zhao Xu, supervisors of the Branch, and Liu Zhiyang, secretary of the Branch attended the conference. Wu Xiaocheng, vice chairman of the Branch and executive deputy secretary of the party committee of Northwest A&F University, and Lu Yanqing, vice president of Nanjing University, successively hosted the summit.
Li Jiajun Speech
Li Jiajun pointed out the 8th council elected by the 8th member representative conference held by China Higher Education Association on 24 July 2022, which is a new beginning for the China Higher Education Association in the future. The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Branch should take the opportunity of the general election of the association to make greater contributions in promoting the high-quality development on innovation and entrepreneurship education among colleges and universities. Focusing on the realization of the high-quality development on innovation and entrepreneurship education, he propose corresponding suggestions as follows. First, it must closely around the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee. Second, it should firmly build the initial mission of “Educating people for the party and cultivating talents for the country”. Third, we should strive to be the pioneers for the development of times. Fourth, we should bravely accept the routine work even they are unvalued or difficult work .
Yang Zhong Speech
Yang Zhong stated that Nanjing University adheres to the integration of professional education and innovation and entrepreneurship education, aiming to build the innovation and entrepreneurship education system on five-sphere integrated plan, integration of four innovations on and three collaborations, in order to achieve outstanding results such as obtaining national honors. He indicated that the school should insist on leading entrepreneurship through innovation and driving employment through entrepreneurship, constantly optimizing the innovation and entrepreneurship education system and strengthening the educational characteristics on innovation and entrepreneurship. Besides, it also should reinforce scientific research education to promote innovation and entrepreneurship education and the combination of scientific research, technological innovation and technological entrepreneurship through discipline superiority and scientific research advantages, exploring the innovation and entrepreneurship education model on talent training, scientific research, achievement transformation and technological innovation.
Yang Shubing Speech
Yang Shubing introduced the three characteristics of the reform and development on innovation and entrepreneurship education in Jiangsu Province, that is early start, sound system and initial effects. He said, “The emphasis of the conference is the integration of science and innovation, focusing on main issues in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship education for in-depth discussion, which has great significance on promoting the reform and innovation of higher education, the cultivation level for talent in colleges and universities and the quality development of innovation and entrepreneurship education under new circumstances. ” He also pointed out, it is a rare opportunity for learning and exchange for colleges and universities in Jiangsu province, producing positive impact on the enhancement of innovation and entrepreneurship education among colleges and universities in Jiangsu province in the future.
