According to the Notice of National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Colleges and National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Practice Bases Construction List published by the General Office of the Ministry of Education, Global Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Nanjing University was selected into the first list of National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Colleges, after independent declaration by colleges, public recommendation by the provincial department of education, and review by the Ministry of Education. It is reported that a total of 100 colleges and universities were selected, and 8 of them were in Jiangsu Province.
Introduction
Global Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Nanjing University (Hereinafter as “Global Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship”) is guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, adheres to the education policy of the Communist Party, insists on strengthening moral education and cultivate people, and revolves around the innovation and entrepreneurship education system. Innovation and entrepreneurship education is integrated into the process of talent training to promote the integration of innovation education and entrepreneurship education, and the combination of professional education and entrepreneurship education, which is designed to cultivate leading talents in all industries and innovative and entrepreneurial talents for the country in the future.
Global Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship was established in 2008, which is one of the earliest innovation and entrepreneurship institutes in China, aiming to provide international and top-ranking innovation and entrepreneurship education ideas and resources for students of Nanjing University. The institute involves distinctive characteristics. First, it gathers superior resources in the school and establishes a multi-level innovation and entrepreneurship curriculum system to meet the development needs of students with different training goals. Second, it integrates the advantages of scientific and technological management and builds connection with innovation and entrepreneurship education, in order to reinforce the training and practice on innovation and entrepreneurship education. Third, it raises the competence of social innovation and entrepreneurship talents, so as to construct favorable interactive mechanism for social development through quality resources of innovation and entrepreneurship education.
The institute has always focused on the goal of education, centering on the innovation and entrepreneurship education system on five-sphere integrated plan. Meanwhile, it has thrusted relevant courses, lectures, training, competitions and incubation on innovation and entrepreneurship, achieving significant results.

The institute contributes wisdom and strength to the national innovation and entrepreneurship education. Since 2016, it has organized 18 innovation and entrepreneurship training sessions for teachers from colleges and universities all over the country and Jiangsu Province, and cultivated more than 1,500 teachers and managers of innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges, involving more than 100 colleges in China. It also enhances the overall quality of local industrial talents by serving the local. In addition, it trained 6,000 industrial talents through the Industrial Training Project for Outstanding Talents in Jiangsu Province and the High-tech Entrepreneur Training Project in Nanjing, organized by our institute for consecutive years. And, it also holds the Nanjing University Lixing Cup Global Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
