On November 23, the fifth session of Nanda scientific entreprenur workshop jointly organized by organization department of Nanjing municipal party committee and Nanjing University opened. The opening ceremony was held at Zhixing Building. The vice president of Nanjing Universiy, Tan Zhemin, and the deputy director general of the organization department of Nanjing municipal party committee and chief of the city’s talent office, Zhu Xiaolin, attended the event and delivered key note speeches. Assistant to President of Nanjing University, Professor Fan Conglai from the business school, as the first speaker, interpreted “Innovative Mindset in Entrepreneurship Financing “ for the 43 participating scientific entrepreneaurs. The ceremony was hosted by assistant to president, Li Cheng.
Vice president Tan Zheming pointed out that against the backdrop of mass entrepreneuship and innovation, Nanjing University fully utilized its multi-disciplinary comprehensive advantage, and achieved remarkable results in cultivating talents of innovation and entrepreneurship, transforming scientific products, and theoretical research on innovation and entrepreneurship. He also suggested that Nanjing University established 24 collaboration platforms that integrate politics, production and research with local governments and industrial champions. This training session lasts four days. Teaching faculty consists of government experts, university professors and successful entrepreneurs. Mr. Tan also indicated that scientific entrepreneurs have to possess the entrepreneur characters, but as well as scientific knowledge, to transform the scientific product to real production capacity and promote the development of local economy and society. He expressed his hope that all participants would reap gains from the session and practice what they have learnt. Meanwhile, he welcomed the present entrepreneurs to conduct collaboration with the demonstration base of innovation and entrepreneurship at Nanjing University, to boost the city’s development on these two fronts.
The deputy director general Zhu Xiaolin suggested that the central, provincial and municipal party committees all attach great importance to the innovation and entrepreneurship of talents in science. Nanjing makes great efforts to encourage talents in science in terms of innovation and enrepreneurship. Under the support of municipal party committee, municipal government and relevant departments, Nanjing implements the “321 Plan”, which conductstraining and entrepreneurship practice by regularly holding themed salons, dialogue and establishing mentorship scheme. Deputy director general Zhu expressed hope that all the participating scientific entrepreneurs would stick to their original minds, continue to make progress, improve their capabilities in innovation and entrepreneurship, expand and strengthen their enterprises to make greater contributions to the New Nanjing.
The seminar session was hosted by Global Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Nanjing University, as part of the “Scientific Entrepreneur Cultivation Scheme”. It is reported that ever since the implementation of Nanjing “321 Plan”, a number of high-level entrepreneurs from domestic and abroad have come to Nanjing. Especially the five batches of scientific entrepreneurs that have been introduced into the city for cultivation, these 254 entrepreneurs have become the major force to drive the innovative development in Nanjing. Currently, the previous four batches of scientific enterprises have a strong development momentum. They have submitted a tax revenue of 1.76 billion. Many of the enterprises have become industry champions.
